For Halloween Glen dressed up as Nacho Libre. He won "most original" costume at work and also was recognized with a "life time" achievement in costume wearing by members of the Staff Asssociation at his work. You may now pick yourself up off the floor. :) Kelly and her boyfriend dressed as a bee and a flower.

At the end of August Glen made a trip to San Francisco, the city of his birth, for an archival convention. He gave a presentation on an e-mail preservation grant in which he participated.

Since he stayed in the Theater District, he could easily walk to China town.

Although he had to climb streets like this or maneuver around them.

In the off hours he attended a Giants game against Milwaukee at A T & T Park.

One of the interesting features of the park is this giant glove in the center field stands.

At the game Glen sat with his fellow archivists, including his colleague Mark and his family.

He also attended a reception at the San Francisco Public Library.

In August, Sandee, Kelly and their hair dresser friend, Will, spent a week in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. We started planning it in the spring. With gas prices soaring we decided that it might be that last best chance to see a little of life outside of our homeland. Our party took took two show trips around the bay.

This was Sandee's and my hotel room, complete with a Madonna and child painting.

The room had a comfortable patio that looked out on the pool area below.

The pool area, which was adjacent to the Bay, had a water fall and complete sun worshipers cabana facilities.

The restaurants in this "Love Boat" destination were impressive and relatively inexpensive.

We took a "Pirate" show trip on a replicate of Columbus' Santa Maria. The rain covers over the deck proved totally inadequate during the deluge that occurred half way through the trip around the bay. The Pirates and most of the passengers (including Kelly and Will) braved the weather.

We traveled to Virginia to visit with Sandee's family and to see the ponies that live on Assateague Island ( see link). Miracle Man pictured in the foreground is leader of a herd that produced "Stormy," the colt that niece Annie Mac purchased last year with the help of the feather fund.

Stormy's mother his pictured here with a sister who was born earlier this year.

Because it rained a bit in late Spring the iris and rose blossoms were spectacular! Moosh kept careful guard of these plants.

On the way back from Jacksonville we stopped in to see Mom. We enjoyed watch the film "Made of Honor" and went to our favorite resaurant, Roasters.

The 17 floor addition to Mom's building is moving right along. They took the crane down last month

Our hotel room faced right on Jacksonville Beach. It was nested among condos, bars and restaurants. We enjoyed seafood every night, except when we went to a good Mexican restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Sandee spent some time at a conference in downtown Jacksonville, but all the other time on beaches. On the way down we explored Tybee Island near Savannah and we made day trips to nearby Amelia Island, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach.

A guy sails the beach cruising to find girls who want to ride with him. The surf was full of young riders of surboards and boogy boards. Glen brought a beat up old boogy board that he rode on a few waves briefly.

Sun rise over the fishing pier at Jacksonville Beach from our hotel room window. The beaches are flat with some good shelling

Glen dresses up as a Buddhist monk protesting the killings in Myanmar. Though he entered a contest in the library where he works, he did not win one of the awards. Note that he has shaven his beard for this contest. He will now begin growing it back.
